The Doctors

Dr. Erin Taback has been serving patients in Oak Park, River Forest, Forest Park and the surrounding communities since 2000.   In 2011, Dr. Taback founded Oak Park Pediatrics in order to bring the continuity of care and exceptional, personalized service that she believes all patients (and their parents) expect and deserve.

Dr. Taback grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  In 1992, she graduated cum laude and received a BS in Biology from the University of Michigan.  She graduated from medical school at Temple University School of Medicine in 1996.  Dr. Taback then moved to Chicago, where in 1999 she completed her pediatric residency at Children’s Memorial Hospital (now known as Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago).  After completing her residency, Dr. Taback spent one year as a Pediatric Hospitalist at Highland Park Hospital.  Since then Dr. Taback has been in private practice.

Dr. Taback is Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and an Instructor of Clinical Pediatrics at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine.  She holds privileges and sees newborns at Prentice Women’s Hospital of Northwestern Memorial Hospital and West Suburban Medical Center, and is an Associate Staff Member at Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago.

Dr. Taback lives in Oak Park with her husband and their two children. Like other parents, Dr. Taback has experienced the ups and downs of parenting young children, which has served to enrich her medical knowledge. She is very knowledgeable about services available to children in the area such as park district programs, community activities and pre-schools. Dr. Taback also serves on the Board of Directors for Wonder Works, a Children’s Museum in Oak Park. When not working, Dr. Taback enjoys exercise, golf, gardening, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.

Dr. Sarah Loughran Stanos joined Oak Park Pediatrics in 2012. She was raised in Oak Park and graduated from Oak Park River Forest High School in 1986, after which she attended DePauw University and received her BA in 1990. Dr. Stanos graduated from medical school at Midwestern University – Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1996, and went on to complete her pediatric residency at Lutheran General Children’s Hospital in Park Ridge. From 2000-2007, Dr. Stanos worked in private practice and served as a Pediatric Hospitalist and Assistant Professor at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. From 2008 to 2012, Dr. Stanos was a Staff Member at Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago where she focused on working with newborns in the neonatal intensive care unit at Prentice Women’s Hospital of Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Stanos is Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and an Assistant Clinician at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine. Dr. Stanos lives in River Forest with her husband and their three children. She takes tremendous pride in being able to work with families in the community she has called home for the majority of her life. She particularly loves to share the knowledge she has gained from her wide spectrum of clinical experiences. When not working, Dr. Stanos enjoys spending time with her family and traveling.

Dr. Elizabeth Thompson joined Oak Park Pediatrics in 2013.  Dr. Thompson grew up in McHenry, IL, and in 2003 graduated magna cum laude and received a BS in pre-professional studies from the University of Notre Dame.  She then graduated from Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine in 2008, and in 2011 completed her pediatrics residency at the University of North Carolina Hospitals in Chapel Hill.  From 2011-2013, Dr. Thompson served as a Pediatric Hospitalist and Assistant Professor in Pediatrics at UNC Hospitals where she cared for general pediatrics patients and pediatric neurology patients admitted to the hospital and also provided coverage for the newborn nursery.

Dr. Thompson is Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She is in the process of gaining privileges at Prentice Women’s Hospital and West Suburban Medical Center, and has applied to become an Associate Staff Member at Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago.

Dr. Thompson lives in Oak Park with her husband and their two children.  She is very excited about establishing lasting relationships with her patients and their families in the community she now calls home.  Outside of work, Dr. Thompson enjoys cooking, yoga, traveling, and spending time with her family.
